Installing Dial-Up Networking:
To verify if Dial-Up Networking is installed, double-click on My
Computer from your desktop. If the Dial-Up Networking
icon is missing in My Computer, follow these steps:
- Open the Control Panel.
- Double-click on Add/Remove Programs.
- Select the Windows Setup tab.
- Double-click on the word Communications.
- Click on the Dial-Up Networking check box, and
click on OK. Then, click on Apply. Re-start
your computer, if prompted.
Installing the TCP/IP Protocol for Dial-Up Adapter:
- Open the Control Panel.
- Double-click on Network.
- Select Configuration tab, and verify that the TCP/IP
-> Dial-Up Adapter is present. If it isn't:
- Click on Add
- Double-Click on Protocol
- Scroll down the list and select Microsoft
- Choose TCP/IP and click OK
- Insert your Windows 95 Disks or CD-ROM if
prompted. Click on OK.
- Keep clicking on OK until you are asked to
restart the system, and then Restart.
Installing GRICDial
After downloading the dialer:
- Open the folder where you have saved the dialer file.
- Double-click on the file
"GRICDial2_0pack1.exe".
- Click Yes at the InstallShield Wizard start-up
window.
- Click Next at the InstallShield Wizard Welcome
window.
- Choose the directory where you want to install the
dialer, then click Next.
- Choose the folder for the GRiC Dialer icon, then click Next.
- Click Finish in the Setup Finished window to
complete the installation.
Once you have installed the dialer, you may
start it by clicking on the "GRICDial" icon on your
desktop or in the Start Menu.
