Toponymy: Either from 'Ben Warrat' or 'Bur Marrad'. Ben Warrat (iben werriet) means 'son to inherit' (reference to St.Publius who lived there and inherited our faith from St.Paul). Bur Marrad ) art li tmarrad) means land that causes sickness. This was due to stale water at Salina.
