  Internet Setup For MacOS 8
 
Welcome to the internet setup for MacOS 8. To set up your MacOS 8 to connect to Global Net follow the steps below. The information in the screenshots is the actual information which you have to insert in the Internet Setup Assistant. Under this internet setup you'll find some links which might help you in setting up different versions of the MacOS.
 
01. Click on Update to add a new configuration.


02. Select the Add Internet configuration button and then click on the right arrow button at the bottom the same window.


03. Type Global Net (or Satellite Net if yours is a Satellite Net subscription) in the textbox where it asks for the name of the configuration.

04. Select Modem as the way you connect to the internet.

05. Click on the right arrow button at the bottom of the same window.


06. Select the modem you currently have installed and the port which that modem is on.

07. All of Global Net's customers should be on a Tone phone system, so select the Tone button and click on the right arrow at the bottom of the same  window.


08. Type in the phone number 491888 (or 491778 which uses compaq digital modems. For Global Net unlimited users use 492008.)

09. Type in your username (all in lowercase).

10. Type in your password, which should include numbers and letters, and should also be all lowercase unless you specified otherwise.

11. Click on the right arrow at the bottom of the same window.


12. Unless you have a static-ip (if you don't know what that is, then you don't have one), choose the 'No' button and click on the right arrow at the bottom of the same window.


13. Enter the following numbers on their own lines into the larger box at the top of the window
194.105.32.2
194.105.32.3

14. Type global.net.mt into the box below where it asks for the domain name, and click on the right button at the bottom of the same window.


15. Your email address is your username@global.net.mt.

16. Type your password in the password box on the lower half of the window, then select the right arrow in the bottom of the same window.


17. You POP account should be your username and @mail.global.net.mt. Ex : test1@mail.global.net.mt

18. The SMTP server is mail.global.net.mt. Click on the right arrow button at the bottom of the same window.


19. The news server for Global Net is news.global.net.mt. Click on the right arrow button to proceede.


20. You should be all completed. Go ahead and select Connect when finished and then click on Go Ahead.
